PROCLAIMERS
DID YOU KNOW?
That 70% of the world’s population are oral communicators.
This means that they depend on audio or audio-visual means to receive, process, remember, and pass on information, just as the early church did.
The Wayuu people are oral learners. Bread of Hope uses oral tools such as the Proclaimer to facilitate their engagement with God’s Word. The Proclaimer is a digital audio player that has a complete recording of the New Testament in the Wayuu native language. We train Wayuu leaders to start listening groups using the proclaimer. In these listening sessions, people listen to God’s Word, and leaders have the opportunity to engage in discussions as their communities learn and grow in wisdom, knowledge, and relationship with Jesus Christ.

SEMBRADORES (PASTOR'S TRAINING PROGRAM)
At Bread of Hope, we believe that biblically-equipped local leaders are fundamental in reaching the Wayuu with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we started the Sembradores “Seed Sowers” Training.
Sembradores is a two-year Bible training program focused on equipping native leaders with biblical tools that help them understand the gospel and preach it in their communities. After training, these leaders return home and multiply God’s kingdom by making disciples.
Wayuu servants are ready to dedicate two years of their lives to be trained and equipped to take the gospel to their unreached communities.
Annual cost for 14 pastors: $16,800
Sponsor a pastor for two years: $2,400

HOPE TEAMS
Once graduates from the Sembradores program start forming groups of disciples, we work alongside them to help create a Hope Team. A Hope Team is a group of believers being discipled by a Sembrador that work together to serve their community by being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Help us empower Sembradores and their disciples by giving them the tools and resources they need to reach their communities.
Annual cost: $8,000
Support a church for a year: $800
NEW LITERACY GROUPS (6)
The purpose of this program is to provide education, food, and life skills to Wayuu children as they are discipled in God’s word and equipped to share the gospel with their parents.
We currently have the opportunity to expand this program to six new communities and reach over five hundred Wayuu children.
Monthly cost: $1,800
Annual cost: $21,600

NEW HEALTH GROUPS
Health is one of the biggest needs among the Wayuu people. This year, Bread of Hope, in partnership with ITEC, started a health training program to identify and train people in Wayuu communities with basic skills in health, prevention, nutrition, and knowledge about common illnesses and diseases.
We currently have the opportunity to expand this program by training new leaders and reaching six new communities.
